Rescue Efforts
In 2020, before she founded Friends of Normie, Ladan Davia began coordinating the rescuing, fostering, and adoption of hundreds of cats. This grassroots effort to save cats by mobilizing a handful of volunteers began evolving into an expansive community of people passionate about animal welfare. In 2023, to further nurture and develop the capabilities and mission of this community, Ladan founded Friends of Normie Rescue, a nonprofit animal rescue organization independent of the Friends of Normie company, that she runs to this day.
In 2024, Friends of Normie Rescue officially was recognized as tax exempt under federal and California law. The rescue’s mission is to promote the health and wellbeing of cats and other domesticated animals through foster, rescue, TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release), education, and other avenues.
As of early 2025, Friends of Normie Rescue's work has resulted in 5,607 positive outcomes.
